About

AS A PERFORMER
A proud performing artist from Ohio, Clint has over 20 years of performance experience. Having grown up in Columbus, Ohio, Clint discovered his love for singing at a young age and began performing professionally in theater and music at the age of 12. He pursued a BFA in musical theater from Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. After graduating college, he made the move to New York City to pursue a performance career. With his absolute hard work and some favor of fortune, Clint gained the opportunities to perform across the country in national tours, regional theater productions, numerous shows in New York City, and a reality singing competition on the CW network. Despite his busy teaching schedule, Clint manages and continues to perform in NYC and around the US.

AS A VOCAL COACH
There is at least one thing that one is born to do. For Clint, it’s teaching voice in addition to singing. He has been teaching voice for more than 14 years. His New York City based studio, CarterVocals continues to grow, with over 100 students having passed through its door and upwards of 25 regular weekly students working and thriving as singers and performers at all levels. He continues to learn and discover new techniques to ensure students receive the best training to achieve their goals.
Clint believes “if you can sing classical music you can sing anything”. Among the techniques of classical singing, Clint emphasizes breathing for it is what fuels the voice. Without full and proper breath support, the voice and larynx will not relax and function as a healthy quality sound.

Along with classical voice training, Clint incorporates Linklater Voice Method, developed by retired Columbia University professor Kristin Linklater. This technique uses specific exercises to release tension around the body and to allow for a more natural breath and sound. It will also help initiate vibrations in the body and resonators, allowing the sound to be placed more forward and out of the throat.
Knowing everyone’s voice is a unique instrument and everyone has different levels of experience, Clint will cater his lessons to each individual student. He will set goals for students and help them achieve the goals through a fun and enjoyable process.
